The Infineon OPTIREG™ linear TLS205B0EJ is a micropower, low-noise, low-dropout voltage regulator designed for automotive applications. It can supply an output current of 500 mA with a low dropout voltage of 320 mV. Its very low quiescent current of 30 µA makes it ideal for automotive battery-powered systems.
A key feature is its low output noise, which can be as low as 24 µVRMS over a bandwidth from 10 Hz to 100 kHz when using an external 10 nF bypass capacitor on the adjustable variant. The regulator is stable with an output capacitor as small as 3.3 µF, and can utilize small ceramic capacitors without requiring series resistance.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, and reverse current protection. The TLS205B0EJ is available in a fixed 3.3 V output variant (TLS205B0EJ V33) and an adjustable variant (TLS205B0EJV) with a 1.22 V reference. Both are supplied in a PG-DSO-8 exposed-pad package suitable for surface mounting.
This part is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 standards.
The internal circuitry operates down to 2.3V.
