TLK2701IRCPR

The TLK2701IRCPR from Texas Instruments is a multigigabit transceiver designed for ultrahigh-speed bidirectional point-to-point data transmission systems. It supports an effective serial interface speed of 1.6 Gbps to 2.7 Gbps, providing up to 2.16 Gbps of data bandwidth.

This transceiver is ideal for high-speed backplane interconnects and point-to-point data links. It interfaces with backplanes, copper cables, or optical converters. The device features on-chip 8-bit/10-bit encoding/decoding and a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for clock synthesis from a low-speed reference. It operates with a 2.5-V power supply for low power consumption, drawing less than 500 mW.

The TLK2701IRCPR is housed in a 64-pin VQFP thermally enhanced package (PowerPAD). It offers a 16-bit parallel TTL compatible data interface with 3 V tolerance on parallel data input signals. The operating temperature range is industrial, from -40°C to 85°C.

Key features include hot-plug protection, programmable voltage output swing on the serial output, and loss of signal (LOS) detection. This device can replace parallel data transmission architectures, reducing the number of traces and connector terminals required.
