TLK2208BGPV

The TLK2208BGPV from Texas Instruments is an eight 1.0- to 1.3-Gigabits Per Second (Gbps) synchronizable transceiver designed for high-speed, full-duplex point-to-point data transmissions. It is IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet compliant and features low power consumption, drawing less than 1.3 W at 1.25 Gbps.

This transceiver supports selectable parallel interface modes, including Nibble-Wide Double Data Rate (DDR) Clocking Interface and Multiplexed Channel DDR Clock Interface. It also includes selectable clock tolerance compensation and selectable on-chip 8b/10b IEEE 802.3z compliant encoder and decoder. The device operates with a 1.8V LVCMOS supply voltage, extendable to 2.5V, and features 3.6V tolerant inputs on the parallel I/O.

Designed for surface mounting, the TLK2208BGPV comes in a compact 289-BGA (19x19) package. It offers differential VML transmit outputs with no external components necessary and PECL compatible levels. Built-in testability features include PRBS generation and verification, serial loopback, and far-end loopback. The device also supports IEEE 802.3 Clause 22 Management Data Interface (MDIO) and IEEE 1149.1 JTAG.

With an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, the TLK2208BGPV is suitable for commercial applications requiring reliable high-speed data transmission. Its advanced low-power 0.18-µm CMOS technology contributes to its efficiency.
