The TLE7251VSJ from Infineon Technologies is a high-speed CAN transceiver engineered for robust performance in automotive and industrial networks. It serves as a critical interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical bus layer, driving signals and protecting microcontrollers from network interferences.

This transceiver is fully compatible with ISO 11898-2 and ISO 11898-5 standards, ensuring reliable communication. It supports CAN FD data frames with guaranteed loop delay symmetry, enabling data rates of up to 2 MBit/s. The TLE7251VSJ features a wide common-mode range for excellent electromagnetic immunity (EMI) and very low electromagnetic emission (EME).

Key features include protection against automotive transients, CAN short circuit proofing to ground, battery, and VCC, overtemperature protection, and a TxD time-out function. It also offers a stand-by mode with a remote wake-up function and wake-up indication on the RxD output. The VIO input allows for voltage adaptation to the microcontroller supply, and the transmitter supply (VCC) can be turned off in stand-by mode.

The TLE7251VSJ is available in two package variants: the small, leadless PG-TSON-8 and the PG-DSO-8. Both packages are RoHS compliant and halogen-free. The PG-TSON-8 package is suitable for automated optical inspection (AOI). This component is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100/101.
