The TLC5971RGER is a 12-channel, 16-bit Enhanced Spectrum PWM RGB LED driver manufactured by Texas Instruments. It provides constant current sink output with a capability of 60 mA per channel. The device features 16-bit grayscale control for detailed color rendering and 7-bit global brightness control for each color group.
Designed for flexibility, the TLC5971RGER supports a power-supply voltage range from 3V to 5.5V for direct power and 6V to 17V when using its internal 3.3V linear regulator. The constant-current accuracy is typically ±1% channel-to-channel and device-to-device. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
This LED driver is available in a 24-VQFN (4x4) package and is suitable for surface mount applications. Key features include thermal shutdown protection, auto-restart functionality, and unlimited device cascading for larger displays. The data transfer rate is up to 20 MHz.
Applications for the TLC5971RGER include RGB LED cluster lamps and various display systems requiring precise LED control.
