The TLC5948DBQR from Texas Instruments is a 16-channel constant-current sink LED driver designed for signage applications. It uses a shift register interface for serial data input and offers advanced grayscale control with 16-bit resolution (65,536 steps) and 7-bit dot correction and global brightness control.
Each output can sink up to 60mA when VCC is above 3.6V, or up to 45mA when VCC is 3.6V or lower. The device operates from a VCC supply range of 3.0V to 5.5V and supports data and grayscale clock rates up to 33 MHz. Constant-current accuracy is ±0.6% channel-to-channel typical and ±2% maximum.
The driver is housed in a 24-SSOP (0.154 inch, 3.90mm width) surface-mount package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Its shift register topology makes it suitable for daisy-chaining multiple devices to drive large LED arrays.
