The Texas Instruments TLC5930PWP is a versatile 12-channel constant-current sink LED driver designed for full- or multi-color LED display applications. It features adjustable current values and 1024 gray scale steps using pulse width control, with an output current range of 0.2 mA to 40 mA.
The device supports three brightness adjustment functions: plane brightness adjustment for uniform changes across all outputs, frequency division for overall panel brightness control, and dot correction for individual LED current adjustments. It also includes color-tone correction and an output-voltage monitoring (OVM) function for LED failure detection, along with a thermal error flag (TEF).
With a 3.3-V VCC and LVTTL interface, the TLC5930PWP operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 85°C. It is housed in a 24-pin HTSSOP package, suitable for surface mounting. The driver utilizes a shift register topology and supports a maximum clock frequency of 25 MHz, with DS-Link data input/output capability up to 20 bps.
