TLC555MJG

The TLC555MJG from Texas Instruments is a LinCMOS™ monolithic timing circuit designed for low power consumption. It is functionally interchangeable with the NE555 and LM555 but offers improved performance due to its CMOS technology.

This timer IC operates across a wide supply voltage range of 2V to 15V, with a typical power consumption of just 1mW at 5V. It is capable of operating in astable mode and features a CMOS output that can swing rail-to-rail. The high output current capability includes a sink of 100mA typical and a source of 10mA typical. Its high input impedance allows for smaller timing capacitors compared to bipolar counterparts, enabling more accurate time delays and oscillations.

The TLC555MJG is compatible with CMOS, TTL, and MOS logic and can operate at frequencies up to 2MHz. It is available in a CDIP (JG) 8-pin package and is rated for an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. ESD protection exceeds 1000V. This part is also available in Q-temp automotive and is qualified to automotive standards for high-reliability applications.

All unused inputs must be tied to an appropriate logic level to prevent false triggering. The device has a trigger level approximately one-third of the supply voltage and a threshold level approximately two-thirds of the supply voltage, which can be adjusted using the control voltage terminal.
