TLC552CDR

The TLC552CDR from Texas Instruments is a dual monolithic timing circuit fabricated using TI LinCMOS process. This device provides full compatibility with CMOS, TTL, and MOS logic and operates at frequencies up to 2 MHz. Its high input impedance allows for accurate time delays and oscillations with smaller, less-expensive timing capacitors compared to the NE555.

The TLC552CDR features a wide operating voltage range from 1V to 18V and consumes very low power, typically 2 mW at VDD = 5V. It is capable of operation in astable mode with CMOS outputs that can swing rail to rail. The output current capability is high, sinking up to 100 mA and sourcing up to 10 mA. The device exhibits greatly reduced supply-current spikes during output transitions, minimizing the need for large decoupling capacitors.

This dual timer IC is functionally interchangeable with the NE556 and has the same pinout. It is supplied in a 14-SOIC package suitable for surface mounting. The operating temperature range is from 0°C to 70°C.
