The TL7726CP is a hex clamping circuit from Texas Instruments, designed to protect CMOS semiconductor devices from latch-up and transient overvoltages. It contains six identical clamping circuits that monitor input voltage against a reference. In standby, dissipation is less than 1 mW. Active clamping occurs when input voltage goes below ground or above the reference, sinking up to 25 mA. The device operates stably with capacitive loads and has no output overshoot.
The TL7726CP is characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C. It is supplied in an 8-pin plastic DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole mounting. Typical applications include automotive and industrial systems where large positive or negative transients occur, protecting ADCs and other mixed-signal circuits.
