TL7660CP

The Texas Instruments TL7660CP is a CMOS switched-capacitor voltage converter designed for simple voltage conversion, including negative voltage generation. It operates over a wide input voltage range of 1.5 V to 10 V, producing a complementary negative output voltage from -1.5 V to -10 V. This device requires only two external, noncritical capacitors for its charge pump and charge reservoir functions.

Key electrical specifications include a maximum input voltage of 10 V, a minimum input voltage of 1.5 V, and a maximum output current of 0.1 A. The typical quiescent current is very low at 0.00011 A. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C, ensuring reliable performance in various environments.

This voltage converter can also be configured as a voltage doubler, capable of generating output voltages up to 18.6 V with a 10-V input. The internal circuitry includes a linear regulator, an RC oscillator, a voltage-level translator, and four power MOS switches. It is suitable for applications such as on-board negative supplies, data-acquisition systems, and portable electronics.

The TL7660CP is available in an 8-pin PDIP package and is designed for through-hole mounting.
