The TL3695P from Texas Instruments is a bidirectional differential bus transceiver designed for multipoint transmission on long bus lines in noisy environments. It meets or exceeds the requirements of TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-485-A, and ITU Recommendation V.11.
This transceiver features advanced low-power Schottky circuitry, offering a maximum signaling rate of 10 Mbps. It operates from a single 5V supply with a voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V. The device has a common-mode range of -7V to 12V and supports up to 32 nodes on the bus.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum supply current of 50000 µA, fault protection from -10V to 15V, and a receiver input impedance of 12 kΩ minimum. The receiver sensitivity is ±200 mV maximum with a typical hysteresis of 120 mV. The driver output capacity is ±60 mA.
The TL3695P is available in an 8-PDIP package and is designed for through-hole mounting. It operates within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The transceiver includes thermal-shutdown protection and driver positive and negative current limiting for enhanced reliability. It is interchangeable with National DS3695 and DS3695A.
