The TJA1462ATK/0Z from NXP Semiconductors is a high-speed CAN FD transceiver that interfaces between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. It implements the CAN physical layer as defined in ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284 standards, ensuring interoperability with Classical CAN and CAN FD transceivers.

This transceiver features CAN Signal Improvement Capability (SIC) to reduce signal ringing, enabling reliable CAN FD communication in larger topologies. It boasts tighter bit timing symmetry performance, supporting CAN FD communication up to 8 Mbit/s. The TJA1462A variant includes a VIO supply pin for direct interfacing with 3.3 V- and 5 V-supplied microcontrollers.

Designed as a direct replacement for existing transceivers, it offers pin compatibility to facilitate easy retrofitting into hardware and software designs. The device is qualified according to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (TJ).

The TJA1462ATK/0Z is available in an 8-VDFN exposed pad package, suitable for surface mounting. It also features low electromagnetic emission (EME) and high electromagnetic immunity (EMI), along with predictable and fail-safe behavior under undervoltage conditions.
