The TISP4070H3BJR-S is a bidirectional thyristor overvoltage protector from Bourns, part of the TISP4xxxH3BJ series. It is designed to protect central office, access, and customer premise equipment against overvoltages on telecom lines. The device is specified to meet standards such as GR-1089-CORE, FCC Part 68, UL1950, EN 60950, IEC 60950, ITU-T K.20, K.21, and K.45.
This protector features a minimum off-state voltage (VDRM) of 58 V and a typical breakover voltage (V(BO)) of 70 V. The on-state voltage is 3 V maximum at 5 A on-state current. It has a high surge current capability: 60 A minimum for a 1-cycle 60 Hz surge and 500 A minimum for a 2/10 µs waveform, with a rate of rise of current (di/dt) of 400 A/µs minimum. The holding current is a minimum of 150 mA, and the off-state leakage current is a maximum of 5 µA. The device has a typical capacitance of 120 pF at -2 V.
The TISP4070H3BJR-S is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package, making it suitable for compact designs. It is a bidirectional device, meaning it can protect against both positive and negative overvoltages. The datasheet indicates it functionally replaces the Bourns P0640SC part.
