The TIP48G from ON Semiconductor is a High Voltage NPN Silicon Power Transistor. This series is designed for applications such as line-operated audio output amplifiers, SWITCHMODE power supply drivers, and other switching circuits.
Key electrical characteristics include a Collector-Emitter Voltage (VCEO) of 300Vdc and a continuous Collector Current (IC) of 1A. The transistor offers a DC Current Gain (hFE) of 30 minimum at 300mA and 10V, and a Collector-Emitter Saturation Voltage (VCE(sat)) of 1V maximum at 1A collector current and 200mA base current.
With a maximum power dissipation of 40W at 25°C case temperature, the TIP48G is suitable for demanding power applications. It operates within a junction temperature range of -65°C to +150°C. The device is housed in a popular TO-220 plastic package, facilitating through-hole mounting.
