The TIP32 is a PNP epitaxial silicon transistor manufactured by ON Semiconductor, designed for medium power linear switching applications. It serves as the complement to the TIP31 series transistors.
Key electrical characteristics include a collector-emitter voltage (Vceo) of 40V and a continuous collector current (Ic) of 3A. The transistor offers a DC current gain (hFE) of at least 10 at 3A and 4V, with a typical gain of 25 at 1A and 4V. Its collector-emitter saturation voltage (Vce(sat)) is a maximum of 1.2V at 3A and 375mA base current, and the base-emitter saturation voltage (Vbe(sat)) is a maximum of 1.8V at 3A and 4V.
The transistor has a typical current gain bandwidth product (fT) of 3MHz at 10V and 500mA. Absolute maximum ratings include a collector current pulse of 5A and a collector dissipation of 40W at 25°C case temperature, or 2W at 25°C ambient temperature. The junction temperature is rated up to 150°C.
Packaged in a TO-220-3 configuration, the TIP32 is designed for through-hole mounting. Its operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C.
