The TIP117 from On Semiconductor is a PNP Darlington power transistor designed for general-purpose amplification and low-speed switching applications. It offers a high DC current gain, with a typical hFE of 2500 at 1.0 Adc, and a minimum hFE of 1000 at 1A, 4V. The device can handle a continuous collector current of up to 2A and has a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 100V.
This transistor features a low collector-emitter saturation voltage of 2.5V maximum at 2.0 Adc, which helps minimize power loss during the ON state.
