The TIP112G from ON Semiconductor is a complementary silicon power transistor featuring a monolithic construction with built-in base-emitter shunt resistors. This NPN Darlington transistor is designed for general-purpose amplifier and low-speed switching applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a collector-emitter sustaining voltage of 100 Vdc, a continuous collector current of 2 A, and a peak collector current of 4 A. It boasts a high DC current gain (hFE) of 1000 (min) at 1A, 4V, and a low collector-emitter saturation voltage of 2.5 Vdc (max) at 8mA, 2A. The device can dissipate up to 50 W at 25°C case temperature or 2 W at 25°C ambient temperature.
Packaged in a TO-220-3 configuration, the TIP112G is designed for through-hole mounting. It operates within a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. The thermal resistance from junction to case is 2.5°C/W, and from junction to ambient is 62.5°C/W.
