The Traco Power THP 3-4823 is a 3W isolated DC/DC converter from the THP 3 series. It provides dual regulated outputs of +15V and -15V at 100mA each, with a typical efficiency of 83%. The converter accepts an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range of 18 to 80VDC (48V nominal) and features 4000VACrms I/O isolation with reinforced insulation rated for 1000VAC working voltage.
Designed for demanding applications, the THP 3-4823 meets medical safety standards (2 x MOOP per ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1 and IEC/EN 60601-1 3rd edition) as well as industrial safety standards (IEC/EN/UL 62368-1). It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with derating, and includes an input filter compliant with EN 55011 and EN 55032 Class A for EMC. The converter also features short circuit protection (SCP).
The converter is housed in a low-profile 24-DIP module with 6 leads, measuring 31.8mm x 20.3mm x 10.5mm. It is through-hole mountable and has a standard industry pin-out. The full SMD design with ceramic capacitors ensures high reliability and long lifetime. Typical applications include medical equipment, instrumentation, and transportation systems where high isolation and safety are required.
