The TEN 3-0511 is part of the Traco Power TEN 3 series of 3-watt isolated DC/DC converters. It delivers a stable 5V output at up to 500mA from a wide 4.5V to 9V input (nominal 5V) with a typical efficiency of 73%. The module is designed for industrial electronics and communication systems requiring reliable, isolated power in a compact through-hole package.
Key electrical characteristics include a voltage set accuracy of ±1%, maximum ripple and noise of 60 mVpk-pk (20 MHz bandwidth), and line/load regulation of 0.5% max. The input-to-output isolation is rated at 1500 VDC, and the converter includes short circuit protection (SCP). Internal filtering meets EN 55022 Class A and FCC Level A without external components.
The converter is housed in a 24-DIP module with 7 leads and through-hole mounting. Its dimensions are 31.8 x 20.3 x 10.2 mm. It operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (with derating). The full SMD design and high reliability are backed by an MTBF exceeding 1.1 million hours per the datasheet.
