The Traco Power TEL 2-2421 is a 2-watt isolated DC/DC converter from the TEL 2 series. It delivers dual ±5V outputs at up to ±200 mA from a nominal 24V input (18-36V range). The converter is housed in a compact 16-pin DIP module with through-hole mounting, occupying only 23.8 x 13.7 x 8.0 mm on the PCB.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical efficiency of 74% at full load, maximum ripple and noise of 50 mVpk-pk (20 MHz bandwidth), and voltage set accuracy of ±2%. Line regulation is 0.5% maximum, and load regulation is 2.0% maximum for balanced loads. The converter features 1500V input-to-output isolation.
The module includes indefinite short-circuit protection (SCP) and an input filter compliant with EN 55032 Class A for conducted noise without external components. It is designed for lead-free soldering and is RoHS3 compliant. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +80°C, with a temperature coefficient of ±0.02%/K.
