TEA19161T/2Y

The TEA19161T/2Y is a fully digital controller from NXP Semiconductors, engineered for high-efficiency resonant power supplies. It is designed to work in conjunction with TEA19162T PFC and TEA1995T SR controllers to create a complete, low-component-count power supply solution.

This controller offers high efficiency at low loads through a newly introduced low-power mode, bridging the gap between continuous switching and burst modes. It regulates power via primary capacitor voltage, providing accurate output power information that dictates the mode of operation (burst, low-power, or high-power). Protections include overcurrent (OCP), overvoltage (OVP), open-loop (OLP), and capacitive mode regulation (CMR).

The TEA19161T/2Y features integrated high-voltage start-up and level shifting, enabling extremely fast start-up times. It operates within a voltage range of 18.3V to 19.8V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (TJ). The device is supplied in a 16-SOIC package and is suitable for surface mounting.

This controller meets efficiency regulations such as Energy Star, DoE, and the EU Eco-design directive, allowing for the omission of auxiliary low-power supplies, thus saving system costs and simplifying design. It is suitable for applications like notebook computers.
