The TDA8002CG/C1 is a low-power analog interface IC from NXP Semiconductors, suitable for both asynchronous and synchronous cards. It integrates supply, protection, and control functions, making it ideal for placement between a card and a microcontroller.
This IC supports a single supply voltage interface for 3.3V or 5V environments, with a VDD range of 3.0 to 6.5V. It features VCC regulation for 5V ±5% or 3V ±5% and provides controlled rise and fall times. The device includes thermal and short-circuit protections with current limitations, enhanced ESD protections on the card side (>6 kV), and a step-up converter for VCC generation.
Key features include automatic ISO 7816 activation and deactivation sequences, clock generation for the card up to 12 MHz with synchronous frequency changes, and compatibility with ISO 7816, GSM11.11, and EMV specifications. It is available in an LQFP32 package.
Applications for the TDA8002CG/C1 include IC card readers for GSM applications, banking, electronic payment systems, identification, pay TV, and road tolling.
