The Infineon TDA21520 is an integrated power stage solution for DC-DC converters, suitable for DDR memory arrays and low current voltage rails. It combines a low quiescent current synchronous buck gate-driver IC with control and synchronous MOSFETs, along with an active diode structure.
This device operates with an input voltage range of 4.25 V to 16 V and a VCC supply of 4.25 V to 5.5 V. It can deliver an output voltage from 0.225 V up to 5.5 V with an output current capability of 20 A. The switching frequency can operate up to 1.5 MHz, enabling high performance transient response and allowing for miniaturization of passive components.
The TDA21520 features on-chip MOSFET current sensing and reporting, over-temperature protection with thermal shutdown, and cycle-by-cycle over-current protection. It also includes high-side MOSFET short detection and VDRV and bootstrap under-voltage protection.
Packaged in a compact 4 mm x 5 mm x 0.9 mm PQFN, the TDA21520 is optimized for PCB layout and heat transfer. It is lead-free and RoHS compliant.
