TDA21472AUMA1

The TDA21472AUMA1 from Infineon Technologies is an OptimosTM Powerstage designed for high-frequency, low-profile DC-DC converters, particularly for voltage regulation in CPUs, GPUs, and DDR memory arrays. This integrated solution combines a gate-driver IC with Schottky diode and high-side/low-side MOSFETs in a package optimized for PCB layout and heat transfer.

Key electrical features include an input voltage range of 4.25 V to 16 V, a supply voltage range of 4.25 V to 5.5 V, and an output voltage capability from 0.25 V up to 5.5 V. It supports operation at switching frequencies as high as 1.5 MHz, enabling high performance transient response and reduced component size. The device incorporates 5-mV/A on-chip MOSFET current sensing with temperature compensation and provides 80A output over-current protection (OCP).

Protection features include cycle-by-cycle over-current protection with programmable threshold, VCC/VDRV UVLO, phase fault detection, IC temperature reporting, and thermal shutdown. The TDA21472AUMA1 also includes auto-replenishment of the bootstrap capacitor and a deep-sleep mode for power saving. It is compatible with 3.3-V tri-state PWM input and supports Body-Braking load transient.

The TDA21472AUMA1 is housed in a compact 5 mm x 6 mm x 1 mm PQFN package, suitable for surface mount applications. Its design is optimized for CPU core power delivery in server applications, making it well-suited for GPU and DDR memory designs as well.
