TCD2210

The TCD2210 from Applied Technologies is a versatile single-chip solution designed for IEEE 1394 audio applications. It integrates complete IEEE1394, AES3, ADAT®, I2S, I4S, and I8S transceivers, supporting IEC 61883-6 compliant audio streaming.

Key electrical specifications include a +1.8V core supply and a +3.3V I/O supply. The device offers a total of 32 IEEE 1394 FireWire® audio channels and utilizes patented JET™ PLL technology for a no-jitter solution with low clock recovery jitter. It supports AES receiver/transmitter handling for 8 channels in each direction and dual ADAT receiver/transmitter with S-MUX support for up to 8 channels at 96kHz.

This monolithic CMOS ASIC is available in a QFP-128 package. It simplifies the interface to IEEE 1394 and other digital audio formats, maximizing clocking accuracy. The DICE Mini technology, featuring JET™ PLL and an 18x16 hardware mixer with metering support, provides the versatility needed for professional and consumer audio markets. Low-cost CAT-5 cable can support up to 100 meters at full data rates.
