TCA9544APWR

The TCA9544APWR from Texas Instruments is a versatile 4-channel, bidirectional translating I2C and SMBus multiplexer. It allows a single master I2C/SMBus device to communicate with multiple slave devices on separate buses. The master SCL/SDA signal pair is directed to one of the four channels of slave devices (SC0/SD0-SC3/SD3).

This multiplexer supports a wide operating supply voltage range from 1.65V to 5.5V, with 5.5V tolerant inputs, enabling voltage-level translation between different bus voltages such as 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V. It features four active-low interrupt inputs and an active-low interrupt output, providing flexible interrupt handling.

The TCA9544APWR operates at clock frequencies up to 400kHz and has a maximum operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It is supplied in a 20-TSSOP package, suitable for surface mounting. The device offers features like no glitch on power-up, support for hot insertion, and low standby current, making it ideal for complex I2C bus systems requiring channel expansion or voltage translation.
