The TCA9416DTMR from Texas Instruments is a 2-bit bidirectional translator designed for SDA and SCL lines in I2C applications. It provides bidirectional voltage translation without requiring a direction pin.
This device supports a wide operating voltage range from 1.08V to 3.6V on both A and B ports. The maximum operating frequency is 1MHz. Internal 10-kΩ pull-up resistors are present on all SDA and SCL pins, enabled based on the respective VCC voltage. The device exhibits low Ioff of 2.5µA when either VCCA or VCCB is 0V. Latch-up performance exceeds 100mA per JESD 78, class II, and ESD protection exceeds JESD 22 standards.
