TCA5013ZAHR

The TCA5013ZAHR from Texas Instruments is a feature-rich smart card interface IC designed to support multiple card types, including 1 user card and 3 secure access module (SAM) cards. It operates within a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and supports EMV 4.3, ISO7816-3, and ISO7816-10 standards.

Key electrical features include a maximum smart card frequency of 2.6 MHz and an input clock frequency up to 26 MHz. The IC incorporates an integrated DC-DC boost converter to generate VCC for 5V and 3V card interfaces. It also includes a 4-byte FIFO for storing ATR from ISO7816-10 Type 1 cards and programmable rise/fall time control for IO and clock lines.

For enhanced reliability, the TCA5013ZAHR offers automatic card deactivation in case of short circuits, card pull-out, over-temperature, or power supply faults. It also features IEC61000-4-2 8-kV contact discharge ESD protection on all smart card interface pins. The device is housed in a compact 48-NFBGA (5x5 mm) package, suitable for surface mounting.
