The Microchip TC77-3.3MCTTR is a serially accessible digital temperature sensor designed for low-cost, small form-factor applications. It provides temperature data as a 13-bit digital word via a SPI and MICROWIRE compatible interface.
This sensor features a temperature resolution of 0.0625°C per Least Significant Bit (LSb) and offers accuracy of ±1°C (max.) over the range of +25°C to +65°C, with ±3°C (max.) accuracy from -55°C to +125°C. It operates within a voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
Designed for efficiency, the TC77-3.3MCTTR consumes 250 µA (typ.) during continuous conversion and can enter a low-power Shutdown mode with a current consumption of only 0.1 µA (typ.). It is available in a compact SOT-23-5 package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs.
Typical applications include thermal protection for hard disk drives and PC peripherals, PC card devices, low-cost thermostat controls, industrial control systems, office equipment, and cellular phones, serving as a thermistor replacement.
