The Toshiba TC74ACT74FN is an advanced high-speed CMOS Dual D-Type Flip Flop, fabricated with silicon gate and double-layer metal wiring technology. It achieves high-speed operation similar to Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining low CMOS power dissipation. This device is suitable for interfacing TTL or NMOS to High Speed CMOS, with inputs compatible with TTL, NMOS, and CMOS output voltage levels.

The D input signal is transferred to the Q output during the positive-going transition of the CK pulse. The CLR (Clear) and PR (Preset) inputs are independent of the CK and are activated by setting the appropriate input to a low level. All inputs are equipped with protection circuits against static discharge or transient excess voltage.

Key electrical specifications include a maximum clock frequency of 180 MHz at VCC = 5 V and a low quiescent current of 4 µA (max) at 25°C. It is compatible with TTL outputs, featuring a VIL of 0.8 V (max) and VIH of 2.0 V (min). The symmetrical output impedance allows for driving 50 Ω transmission lines, with |IOH| = IOL = 24 mA (min).
