TC4429CPA

The TC4429CPA from Microchip Technology is a 6A peak output current, single-channel, low-side MOSFET driver. It is fabricated using CMOS technology for efficient operation and features TTL/CMOS compatible inputs. The device can withstand logic input voltages as low as -5V or as high as VDD + 0.3V without damage, eliminating the need for external level-shifting circuitry.

Key electrical characteristics include a wide operating supply voltage range of 4.5V to 18V, a high capacitive load drive capability of 10,000 pF, and matched rise and fall times of 25 ns into a 2500 pF load. The typical delay time is 55 ns. The output swing is rail-to-rail, ensuring better drive voltage margin during power-up and power-down sequences. It also features latch-up protection and ESD protection up to 4 kV.

This driver is available in an 8-pin PDIP package, suitable for through-hole mounting. Its applications include switch-mode power supplies, motor controls, pulse transformer drivers, and Class D switching amplifiers. The TC4429CPA is virtually latch-up proof and can replace multiple discrete components, saving PCB area and improving system reliability.
