The Bourns TBU-DT065-500-WH is a dual unidirectional Transient Blocking Unit (TBU) designed for high-speed overcurrent and overvoltage protection. It features a trigger current of 500 mA and a peak impulse voltage rating of 650 V, making it suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from surges caused by short circuits, AC power cross, induction, and lightning.
This device integrates two internal switch circuits in a single 4-VDFN exposed pad package (supplier device package 4-DFN 5x5 mm). It is surface mount compatible and designed for Ethernet port protection, protection modules, process control equipment, and test and measurement gear.
The TBU-DT series provides a fast trip response of less than 1 μs when the current exceeds the trigger level in the forward direction. After a surge event, the device automatically resets when the voltage across it falls below the Vreset level, enabling reliable protection without manual intervention.
