The SZNSP8814LMTWTAG is a low capacitance surge protection device from On Semiconductor, specifically designed to protect 10/100 and GbE Ethernet signals from high levels of surge current. It is a unidirectional Zener TVS diode with a working peak voltage of 15V.
This device provides robust protection against IEC 61000-4-2 ESD events up to ±30kV (contact and air) and IEC 61000-4-5 lightning surges up to 35A (8/20µs) and 14A (10/700µs). Its low clamping voltage under high surge conditions makes it ideal for protecting voltage-sensitive lines leading to Ethernet transceiver chips.
The SZNSP8814LMTWTAG features a low capacitance of 2pF (max, I/O to I/O at 1MHz), which combined with its flow-through style packaging allows for easy PCB layout and matched trace lengths necessary to maintain consistent impedance between high-speed differential lines. It is housed in a 10-WDFNW (3x2) surface mount package with wettable flanks for optimal automated optical inspection (AOI).
This device is AEC-Q101 qualified and PPAP capable, making it suitable for automotive applications. It is also Pb-free, halogen free/BFR free, and RoHS compliant, with a UL flammability rating of 94 V-0.
