The SZESD5B5.0ST1G is a bidirectional ESD protection diode from On Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronic components from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other voltage transients. It features a reverse stand-off voltage of 5V and can handle peak power up to 50W under an 8/20 µs pulse waveform. The device offers excellent clamping capability with a typical capacitance of 32 pF at 1 MHz and a response time of less than 1 ns.
This TVS diode meets stringent ESD immunity standards, including IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 with ±30 kV contact and air discharge, and Human Body Model Class 3 (>16 kV). It is AEC-Q101 qualified, making it suitable for automotive applications requiring high reliability. The Zener technology ensures bidirectional protection in a single device.
The component is housed in a compact SOD-523 surface-mount package (SC-79 equivalent) with dimensions of 1.6 x 0.8 mm and a low profile of 0.6 mm. It is supplied in tape and reel packaging with a standard quantity of 3000 pieces. The lead finish is 100% matte tin, and the device is RoHS3 compliant and Pb-free.
Typical applications include audio line protection in cellular phones, MP3 players, and other portable electronics, as well as general ESD protection in automotive and industrial systems. The device operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and has a maximum power dissipation of 200 mW on FR-5 board.
