SY89841UMG-TR

The SY89841UMG-TR from Microchip Technology is a high-speed, low-jitter LVDS 2:1 multiplexer optimized for redundant source switchover. Its unique Runt Pulse Eliminator (RPE) prevents short cycles or "runt" pulses during switchover, ensuring a glitch-free, stable LVDS output.

This multiplexer supports a wide operating frequency range from 1kHz to over 1.5GHz, with guaranteed AC performance over temperature and supply voltage. Key electrical specifications include an in-to-out propagation delay of less than 870ps and rise/fall times under 150ps. It boasts ultra-low jitter, with random jitter and cycle-to-cycle jitter both below 1ps rms, and total jitter under 10ps pp.

The SY89841UMG-TR operates from a single 2.5V ±5% supply and is guaranteed over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The differential input architecture allows interfacing with AC- or DC-coupled signals as small as 100mV without external termination networks. The device is available in a 16-pin MLF® (3x3mm) package, suitable for surface mounting.

Applications include redundant clock switchover and fail-safe clock protection in markets such as LAN/WAN, enterprise servers, ATE, and test and measurement.
