The SY89832UMI from Micrel Inc. is a 2.5V, high-speed, 2GHz differential LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Swing) 1:4 fanout buffer. It is specifically optimized for ultra-low skew applications, guaranteeing within-device skew of less than 20ps over supply voltage and temperature.
This buffer offers guaranteed AC performance, including DC-to >2.0GHz throughput, <570ps propagation delay (IN-to-Q), and <200ps rise/fall time. Its ultra-low jitter design boasts <1ps RMS cycle-to-cycle jitter, <1ps RMS random jitter, and <10ps PP deterministic and total jitter.
The unique, patent-pending input termination and VT pin accept DC- and AC-coupled inputs, allowing easy interfacing to different logic standards. A VREF-AC reference output is included for AC-coupled applications. The device operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a 16-pin (3mm x 3mm) MLF package.
Applications include processor clock distribution, SONET clock distribution, Fibre Channel clock distribution, and Gigabit Ethernet clock distribution.
