SY69952ZC

The Micrel Inc. SY69952ZC is a versatile, single-chip transmitter and receiver designed for ATM applications. It seamlessly integrates both transmit and receive functions, providing clock recovery and generation capabilities for OC/STS-1 and OC/STS-3 SONET/SDH standards.

This device supports clock and data recovery from 51.84Mbps or 155.52Mbps NRZ or NRZI data streams. It features on-chip clock generation using a low-jitter phase-locked loop (PLL), allowing for clock multiplication from reference sources like 19.44MHz for 155.52MHz generation or 6.48MHz for 51.84MHz generation. Clock recovery is achieved by synchronizing the on-chip VCO directly to the incoming data stream.

The SY69952ZC operates from a single +5 volt power supply and features 100K ECL compatible I/O. It is designed to meet the jitter compliance criteria of Bellcore, ITU/CCITT, and ANSI standards. The device includes line receiver inputs that do not require external buffering, differential output buffering, link status indication, and loop-back testing capabilities.

Available in a 28-pin SOIC package, the SY69952ZC is a direct replacement for the Cypress CY7B952. Its design emphasizes ultra-fast performance with low noise and low power dissipation, making it suitable for demanding communication applications.
