The SY58040UMY-TR is an ultra-precision 4x4 CML crosspoint switch from Microchip Technology, optimized for precision telecom and enterprise server/storage distribution. It provides crosspoint switching between any input pair to any output pair, supporting data rates up to 5Gbps and clock frequencies from DC to 4GHz.
This switch features an ultra-low jitter design with 67fs RMS phase jitter (typical). It guarantees AC performance over temperature and voltage, including <350ps propagation delay and <60ps rise/fall times. The unique, patent-pending channel-to-channel isolation design provides superior crosstalk performance. The 50 Ohm input termination accepts DC- and AC-coupled differential inputs as small as 100mV (200mVpp) without external termination resistors. Outputs are 50 Ohm source-terminated CML with a 400mV swing.
The SY58040UMY-TR operates from a 2.5V ±5% or 3.3V ±10% power supply and is guaranteed over an industrial temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. It is available in a 44-pin QFN package (7mm × 7mm) with an exposed pad.
Applications include data communication systems, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, and Gigabit Ethernet.
