SX80

The Unitrode SX80 series draw wire sensor is designed for cost-effective and flexible linear measurement in a wide range of industrial applications. It can measure lengths from 1000mm up to 3000mm, making it suitable for various automation and control tasks.

The sensor utilizes a highly flexible steel wire rope wound on a capstan, which is connected to the sensor housing via a prestressed spring. As the target object moves, the wire rope is extended or retracted, causing the capstan to rotate. This rotation is then converted into a proportional electrical signal by either a potentiometer for analog output or an encoder for digital output. The available output signals include potentiometer, 0-10V, and 4-20mA, with a standard 2m cable length.

Its rugged design and high-quality construction allow for operation in harsh industrial environments. The dynamics of the draw wire transducer enable high motion speeds and acceleration of the measuring target. The small size and short assembly time further contribute to its flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
