The STTH806DIRG is a fast recovery rectifier diode manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 600V and an average forward current of 8A. The diode exhibits a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.85V at 8A and a reverse recovery time of 55ns, making it suitable for high-speed switching applications. The operating junction temperature range extends up to 175°C.
The device features a standard diode technology with fast recovery characteristics (≤500ns, >200mA). It is housed in a TO-220-2 Insulated package (also known as TO-220AC), which provides through-hole mounting and electrical isolation for the heatsink tab.
Typical applications include power supply rectification, freewheeling diodes, and snubber circuits in switched-mode power supplies and motor drives. The insulated package simplifies board design by eliminating the need for additional isolation hardware.
