The STMicroelectronics STP5NB40 is a PowerMesh™ N-Channel MOSFET designed for high current, high speed switching applications. It features a maximum drain-source voltage of 400V and a continuous drain current of 4.7A at 25°C.
This MOSFET offers a typical on-resistance of 1.47 Ω and a maximum of 1.8 Ω at 2.3A and 10V gate drive voltage. The gate threshold voltage is a maximum of 5V at 250µA, with a maximum gate charge of 20 nC at 10V. The input capacitance is rated at a maximum of 405 pF at 25V.
With a maximum power dissipation of 80W at 25°C and an operating junction temperature of up to 150°C, the STP5NB40 is suitable for demanding applications. It also boasts an extremely high dv/dt capability and is 100% avalanche tested.
