SS461R

The Honeywell SS461R is a versatile digital Hall-effect sensor IC that operates by detecting magnetic fields from permanent magnets or electromagnets. It is designed to respond to alternating North and South poles, specifically turning on with a South pole. This sensor offers enhanced sensitivity, allowing for the use of less expensive magnets or wider air gaps. It is built with a robust IC design, including reverse polarity protection and a high-temperature capability of up to 150°C.

The SS461R is available in a flat TO-92-style package with straight leads, suitable for compact PC board layouts. Its electrical characteristics include a wide operating voltage range of 3V to 24V and a typical supply current of 3.5mA at 3V. The output type is open collector, with a maximum output current of 20mA. The magnetic sensitivity has a typical operate point of 50 Gauss and a release point of -50 Gauss.
