The SS28 is a Schottky barrier rectifier from On Semiconductor's SS23-S210 series, designed for high efficiency and low power loss. It features a reverse voltage rating of 80V and an average forward current of 2A. The device has a low forward voltage drop of 850 mV at 2A and a maximum reverse leakage current of 0.4 mA at 25°C (10 mA at 100°C). It can handle non-repetitive peak forward surge currents up to 50A. The SS28 is housed in a surface mount DO-214AA (SMB) package and is rated for an operating junction temperature range of -65°C to +125°C. Typical applications include freewheeling diodes, secondary rectification in low voltage high frequency inverters, and reverse polarity protection.
