The Sunplus SPDC210A is a state-of-the-art DVB-T Terrestrial COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) Demodulator chip. It is designed to match Sunplus backend MPEG decoders for a complete DVB-T turnkey solution.
This demodulator chip supports 2K or 8K modes with 6, 7, or 8 MHz channels and is capable of QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM reception. It integrates a high-performance 10-bit ADC converter. The design features a smart FFT implementation that significantly reduces power consumption, achieving an industry benchmark of around 210mW.
The SPDC210A includes features such as FEC implementation for BER calculation, serial or parallel MPEG transport stream output compatible with commercial MPEG-2 processor chips, and dual AGC for RF and IF control. It utilizes an I2C-like interface for programming commands. The chip is compliant with ESTI EN 300 744 standards for both OFDM demodulation and channel decoding.
Applications for the SPDC210A include DVB-T Set-Top Boxes (STB) and DVB-T Digital Televisions (DTV), including portable and automotive variants.
