The Sipex SP3232EEA-L/TR is a true 3.0V to 5.5V RS-232 transceiver, ideal for portable and handheld applications like notebook or palmtop computers. It features a high-efficiency charge-pump power supply that requires only 0.1μF capacitors in 3.3V operation, enabling true RS-232 performance from a single power supply.
This 2-driver/2-receiver device meets true EIA/TIA-232-F standards and supports a minimum data rate of 120Kbps under full load. It is interoperable with RS-232 down to a +2.7V power source. The SP3232EEA-L/TR boasts enhanced ESD specifications, including ±15kV for the Human Body Model and IEC1000-4-2 Air discharge, as well as ±8kV for IEC1000-4-2 Contact discharge.
