The SN74SSTU32866ZKER from Texas Instruments is a versatile 25-bit 1:1 or 14-bit 1:2 configurable registered buffer. Designed for 1.7-V to 1.9-V VCC operation, it optimizes DDR2 DIMM PCB layout. In the 1:1 configuration, a single device can drive nine SDRAM loads, while the 1:2 configuration requires two devices to drive 18 SDRAM loads.
This buffer features SSTL_18 data inputs and LVCMOS control and reset inputs. It includes edge-control circuitry optimized for unterminated DIMM loads, minimizing switching noise. The device supports differential clock inputs and checks parity on DIMM-independent data inputs, indicating errors on the QERR pin. It is also cascadeable with a second SN74SSTU32866.
Packaged in a 96-LFBGA (96-PBGA MICROSTAR) and designed for surface mounting, the SN74SSTU32866ZKER operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. Its latch-up performance exceeds 100 mA, and ESD protection meets JESD 22 standards.
