SN74ABT8996DW

The SN74ABT8996DW is a 10-bit addressable scan port (ASP) transceiver from Texas Instruments, part of their SCOPE testability integrated circuit family. This device supports IEEE Standard 1149.1-1990 boundary scan to facilitate testing of complex circuit assemblies.

Unlike traditional boundary-scannable devices, the ASP utilizes TI's addressable-shadow-port technology to extend scan access beyond the board level. It functions as a switch, allowing direct connection of the primary Test Access Port (TAP) to secondary TAPs. The primary TAP is multidrop-addressable, minimizing backplane wiring. A simple addressing protocol is received and acknowledged on the primary TAP, enabling board-to-board testing and built-in self-test.
