SN65LBC176QDR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The SN65LBC176QDR from Texas Instruments is a half-duplex differential bus transceiver. It is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Standard TIA/EIA-485-A and ISO 8482:1987(E).

This transceiver features a maximum signaling rate of 10 Mbps and operates over a wide voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V. It supports a common-mode range of -7V to 12V and can accommodate up to 32 nodes on the bus. The device offers fault protection from -10V to 15V.

Designed for multipoint transmission in noisy environments, the SN65LBC176QDR utilizes LinBiCMOS circuitry for high-speed operation. It includes thermal-shutdown protection and driver positive- and negative-current limiting. The receiver design is open-circuit failsafe, with a typical input hysteresis of 50 mV and a maximum input sensitivity of ±200 mV.

Packaged in an 8-pin SOIC surface-mount package, this transceiver operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It is suitable for automotive and catalog applications.
