SN54121J Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments SN54121J is a monostable multivibrator featuring dual negative-transition-triggered inputs and a single positive-transition-triggered inhibit input. It provides complementary output pulses with a pulse width that can be programmed from 40 nanoseconds to 28 seconds using external timing components. With no external components, a typical output pulse of 30-35 nanoseconds is achieved, suitable for d-c triggered reset signals.

This device boasts internal compensation for virtual temperature independence and jitter-free operation up to 90% duty cycle. The Schmitt-trigger input circuitry on the B input provides excellent noise immunity, allowing triggering from slow input transition rates. High immunity to VCC noise is also provided by internal latching circuitry.

The SN54121J operates within a temperature range of -55 to 125°C and is available in a 14-pin CDIP (J) package, supplied in tubes of 25 units. Output rise and fall times are TTL compatible and independent of pulse length, ensuring stable performance in various applications.
